Don't file an appeal. File for a modification/reduction based on your current situation. Take any and all documents to court to prove your income vs necessary bills.

Financial affidavits should have been filed with the original motion for support. Did you check the state schedules for total support that was ordered against what NY state child support schedules show? You do not state your income so one could not double check to see if the total amount ordered is within the guidelines.

If the order was made recently, within the past 30 days, you can either file an appeal or a motion for reconsideration. But you need to have your income before the court and show that the total amount, with health insurance figured in far exceeds state guidelines. Without that you will have difficulty convincing the judge that he or she was unreasonable and, definitely, will have no chance with an appellate court.
