um....crystal, alexis, stop--you're both pretty! just kidding. miss, you don't need to exhaust your money on a lawyer to prove some guy's touching this girl, nor do you need her to remain there for one more minute while you plunder through an overpaid and uninformed investigation. pick up the phone and call the police! be relentless and they will evaluate this child immediately and question the man and do their jobs.
on the other hand, you must begin to ponder the remote possibility that you're wrong. bitter stepchildren and their angry noncustodial parents often either willfully or inadvertently concoct stories of abuse because the child feels guilty that the noncustodial parent is suffering without them or vulnerable. a less loving, more manipulative child can make these claims because they perceive there to be an environment of less competition (no siblings or new spouse?) and more "fun" at the noncustodial house--a role it's easy for the noncustodial parent to play. as a mother, and a custodial parent, i recommend you call the police right now and relentlessly request social services intervention into this. i hope and pray for the best for you and the child. |

I am sorry to inform missingmyhubby but at age 12 a child may choose....as per article: Your Social Worker - Gary Direnfeld, MSW, RSW
However if there is absuse and u can prove it or need help consider consulting ur local Childrens aid society for assistance Good luck we to have a 10 year old little one who doesnt want to be with her mother anymore and her mother told her "u have no choice u stay" well turns out she does and we r exploring our options to get her into the better home |

sorry missingmyhubby u r correct in the fact the ultimate decision is with the judge HOWVER it is not 18 that a child may choose
Your Social Worker - Gary Direnfeld, MSW, RSW children at 10 are not stupid and if there r problems at home she is in perhaps u need to consult with the local child protection services in ur area to investigate and inform them u are more than willing to have her come to live with you We r going through the same thing, our 10 year old doesnt want to b with her mother and her stepdad either but her mother seems to think she is a piece of property and she owns her till she is 18 Good luck to you I hope it gets sorted out for the child's sake |
