as far as I know in any state he still has to. unless the child is adopted by someone such as a step parent.

That is correct. The only way the father of your child can give up his parental rights is if you are married and your husband want's to adopt the child. Then the father of the child has to consent to this.
Until this happens, the father of the child is still supposed to pay child support.

This is untrue partly. There are other reasons why a father can terminate his parental rights. It's not limited to the mother of his child having a husband waiting in the wings to adopt the child.

Even if he give up his parental rights, he will still be legally obligated to pay child support. Child custody and child support are two entirely separate matters.

A father can easily relinquish his rights through a notarized statement consenting to the adoption and signing of the Statement Concerning Ohio Laws and Adoption Materials. He can also sign away his visitation right or decisions on behalf of the child; he may still be required to provide financial support to the child. But there are circumstances where you can relinquish the rights financial responsibilities. The relinquishment of the right can be effected through a court order. It is better advised that you may consult with an Attorney having knowledge in Adoption or Child Custody, who can give a proper guidance in this regard.

Yes, it's better to consult with an attorney than to take advice from either Affa or Lexus (who may be posing as the same person). Their advice is never legally accurate.

It is not as simple as "easily relinquishing his rights through a notarized statement". A COURT has to be involved an no notarized statement is going to "easily" allow a father to terminate his parental rights.

Please take the only advice Lexus gave that was even remotely helpful or accurate. Consult with an attorney.
