Can I sue ex for travel expenses?

Hello everyone. My ex wife took of about 6 months ago over 400 (roundtrip) miles with the kids (relocated) its been hell trying to see them as set out in our parenting plan. The plan stated there is a process regarding relocation which she didnt go through with.
I am trying to modify the plan and well actually ask for custody so I set up mediation as required and the date finally came last month and of course she didnt show up. So, trial has been set in April 2011.

Im out about 2k in expenses for travel. I have the dates logged and receipts etc.
Everywhere i read is that the person that moves should pay the extra fees but i get dead ends.

I need to save some legal fees, thats why I am here.
If its something i can file myself with the courts, I dont think it would be too hard to represent myself having the documentation.

It’s customary for the parent relocating to pay for transportation since they are the reason the transportation is needed. You can sue your ex wife for violating the provision in the plan and also for the travel expense.
