LIVING IN THE PHILIPPINES AND MARRIED TO AMERICAN CITIZEN
ON BEHALF OF MY FRIEND LIVING IN THE PHILIPPINES AND MARRIED TO AMERICAN CITIZEN WORKING AS A POLICE IN VIRGINIA AND HAVE A CHILD OF THEIR OWN. HOW AND WHO CAN SHE GET HELP ABOUT HER CHILD SUPPORT ISSUE?

I wish to inform you that Philippines is not a member of the Hague Convention. Therefore, a legal treaty in the subject matter does not exist between the two countries. However, in such cases the Department of Social Welfare and Development based in Quezon City, Philippines will help your friend. As the father of the child is in Virginia, your friend may contact Department of Social Service in Virginia for the child support matter. Your friend may contact the Central Office Customer Service. It is based in Richmond, VA.
