Want to terminate my babys dad rights... Please help!!
In june i found out that my babys dad, at that time my boyfriend, was cheating on me with a 15 year old girl. He is 27 years old. That relationship started a few months back when she was only 14. They were having a sexual relationship as well because she pregnant. And they are now living together. We were never married we were only in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship and did not lived together. His job takes him out of state all the time, for weeks at the time so his relationship with our daughter is not good. Our daughter is 2 years old. He has never cared for her, he never volunteer or wanted to take care of her while i was at work, and he always would come and see us for a few hours *every other weekend he was home. And he has only seen her once in the past 3 months. He does help me out with financial support but on a very unstable manner. He gives me "whatever he can" for that month. And he has not giving me anthing at all this past few months. I have a steady job and i really dont need his money to survive. I pay for my daughters insurance dr. Appts, childcare, pretty much everything. *He does appear on the birth certificate and we signed the affidavit of paternity in the hospital. *I want to know how do i go about to terminate him completely. I dont want his money. I just want my daughter to grow up with better examples. I want him to have no contact with us. *Please help! I dont know what to do or where to start. And could i go to the police with this?? *Any advice is appriciated.. Thanks!

I wish to inform you that you can terminate rights of your child's father by filing a petition in this regard. You will be required to show that there has been neglect or other acts of father which may require termination of parental rights of father. In this regard, the relation of father will end with the child after court order is passed and father can not be made liable for the child support or other similar matters after it. Some of the grounds of involuntary termination of parental rights are abuse and neglect of child, abandonment of child, etc. In deciding the matter, the court will consider the best interest of the child.

Please ignore affa he rarely gives correct or complete replies. First off did this man sign birth acknowledgment or birth certificate? This is important before we go any further

You may petition court to grant him supervised visits only if you can show he poses a threat to child

You can't terminate his rights. Even if you could, the judge will still order child support be paid by him. Financial support and parental rights are two entirely separate matters.

No, you're who's wrong. Child support is still owed even if the parent chooses not to participate in rearing the child. I don't know where you get your information but it's incorrect and irresponsible to tell people that if they terminate their rights their LEGAL, FINANCIAL obligation to their children also ceases. You appear to not have much knowledge of, or experience, in family court matters.
