North Carolina Child Custody without money for lawyer

I am doing all I can to support my child and then get served with bogus custody papers which they serve at work and cost me my job. I have a couple of questions:

1. Is it required to offer legal aid in child custody hearing when the other party dad has paid for his attorney. Something as important as child custody should be played on same level legally don't you think.

2. Since I was served papers at work and was released from my job the next day can I sue the defendant for the loss of my job for serving me at work? Part of their claim was I constantly moved the child which was completely bogus. What are my ground if any here, please?

I wish to inform you that a person can self represent himself or may be represented by a lawyer. In this regard if you feel that you should be represented by a lawyer then you may either hire a lawyer or may seek legal aid. You can contact the Legal Aid of North Carolina. Their Administrative Office is in Raleigh. As regards service of documents you may give your home address where documents may be served on you. In this you may not be able to seek compensation as service of documents is a part of legal process.

I called legal aid at least a dozen times and was told that I could not obtain legal aid for a civil case regarding child custody in forsyth county. I called in Guilford county and was told legal aid was available for child custody but I had to be a resident of guilford county. I had no where to turn. I called over 200 attorneys and no one was taking on pro bono work for child custody cases.

I also presented evidence that the defendants attorney objected to and the judge would not even look at the evidence but simply sustained the objection. Is this fair?

I wanted a transcript of the hearing but was told that had to be requested two weeks in advance but the court day was set 7 days from the calendar call date.

Even though the Judge was a female she was very biased in favor of the father. Can I request a history of the number of cases she has ruled in favor of the father vs the mother?

I HOPE DAD SUES YOU AND GETS FULL CUSTODY BECAUSE YOU ARE THE ONE WITH THE PROBLEM. POOR CHILD OF YOURS HAS TO DEAL WITH YOU?
I'M DOING RESEARCH NOW, IF I FIND "DAD" I AM GOING TO DIRECT HIM TOWARDS THIS BOARD SO HE CAN COPY THESE AND TAKE THEM WITH HIM. (IT'S NOT HARD TO FIND COURT CASES IN NC, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE TOLD US WHEN AND WHERE IT TOOK PLACE)

Sorry but not use to forums and thought to get an answer you needed to repost questions each time. If you don't want to read about it then just don't. A mother trying to get information and look out for the well being of her child I don't think is a bad thing. There are no names mentioned on here and it is a sight that I am suppose to be able to find out information about. Nothing wrong with being concerned about my child considering what I have been through. Maybe you don't understand or care as deeply. Sorry for not knowing the protocol on how these things work and getting on your nerves. But I needed information about different aspects of this case and therefore posted each question seperately. Now I know that you just keep feeding off one thread.

Let your five year old child tell you that she wishes she could jump out of the car and come home to you when riding with her dad as he makes her ride past my house. See how concerned you would be. Crazy-no concerned for my daughter yes. Treated unfairly-serverly!!! You have not walked in my shoes and if you had you would know I am handling this very well and trying to show the best interest of my daughter. You are just mean.

You my dear are the on in need of serious help. You have a control issue, it is plain to see on here.
All children if they pass by the other parent's home would like to jump out and see them. Its a natural instinct.
Heck my grandparents have been dead for 30 plus years but when I drive by their house I still want to jump out and go there. Its natural.
I honestly think she plays on your reaction to the situation.

I thought these forums were suppose to be for help in dealing with legal issues. Some have been helpful but most seem to be just dads on here upset cuz the law didn't go there way. I am in favor of dads and mothers pending what is best for the child. I am not in favor of someone with major mental issues being a factor. I went to sessions with my ex and was told by the psyc that she no longer needed to see me but he was in need of serious help.

I wish it could not be about fathers vs mothers on here but what is best for the child. A man that has been told he needs mental help then never got it is not the best fit for a child especially when his addiction was sexual in nature and it did not matter who the other person was that he followed thru with those acts. To know he is still doing the same things and has problems sexual in nature having authority over others does not place my daughter in the best of hands. There are many issues at stake here and all I am getting from some people on here is attacked. I did not do anything wrong. I have encouraged my daughters relationship with her father. I just want him to get help so he can be a good father and in the meantime I don't want to expose her to more until proof that he has gotten help.

One day when I get on here and talk about the crap she had to go thru later down the road I will probably get why didn't you do more from the very people I am getting why don't you stop whinning. I think that is sad and probably just people on here wanting or hoping for an argument. I don't want to argue I want some help for my daughters sake. I love being a mommy but do not care to share her when I know she is happy and wanting to be where she is at....you mistake me for being this vindictive person. I am not. I don't care anything about what this man does with anyone else as long as my daughter is taken care of and healthy

Oh and I didn't say I was right. I think when you say you are sorry you are admitting fault. I simply apologized for posting to many questions as I didn't understand the process. One simple note to me saying please don't post so many questions would have fixed the misunderstanding. The person didn't have to be so ugly about it is all I was saying.

Not mean that he addressed the issue just mean in the WAY he addressed it.
