I just recently got married, unfortunately he is currently is in the DOC. I have 2 children who are aware of his issue but love him and are excited that he is now their step dad....but my ex-husband just recently contacted me and said if the children don't stop ALL contact with him that he will file for custody of the children....I really don't know what to do, I would appreciate any input that any one may have...

That alone is not going to be a reason to strip you of custody. That threat is overdone frankly.
