Angry sick and tired

Hello I am looking for thoughts. My wife and I live in Canada with our two children. My daughter from my first marriage(I have full Custody) and my Step Son about to turn 14. My wife moved to Canada after her divorce in North Carolina. The boy, her youngest son has been with her his entire life. The two parents share custody however my wife and I are custodial parents. The boy has a very stable life good freinds, the best schools and is very well adjusted. Every visitation that has ever taken place in the last five years the ex has worked on the boys mind, telling him he is American and that NC was his real home etc etc..Last summer the ex dileberately didn't send the boy back after summer visit. My wife and I were forced to drop everything, impose on others for a daughters care, fly there, go to court and were even required to put up a 5000 dollar bond to have our own custody order enforced????? Everytime my wifes ex has a whim he walks down the street to court and causes us grief and huge amounts of money. What I want to know is can i have this jurisdition changed to Canada, seeing as the boy resides here. All his professionals, doctors, shool teachers etc are all here. We have just been informed that we are once again being challenged for custody. My lawyer says, well just send 5000G and off we go...please...I am so sick and tired of this. Any advice would be great. Oh and by the way if the ex wins custody somehow our boy will live with his grandmother!!! undoubtedly he will lie in court and say otherwise but that is where all the children live. My wifes two older children, now adults and the ex's two new kids and the new grandbaby by our oldest son now 18, his wife, the grandmother, grandfather and god knows who else, in a trailer. Oh and one more thing. this guy is a preacher and is 4 months behind on his support. No one seems to give a &%*&( about that? He just walks in and says I want this and the courts jump..he has never, ever once paid on time.....ever. and usualy only pays when he has to show cause and is dragged into court!! Frusterate and tired.

Default Re: sick and tired

you need to check your local laws in Canada, but it usually works where you can file papers in the jurisdiction that the child has resided in in the past 6 months. so you may be able to get it moved to Canada. again, call around and get free consultations with lawyers and see what advice they can give you. you may even stumble upon one that you can afford, & or work with ya. Good Luck
