Default Missing daughter

My daughter is practically missing...

As of April 31st, and from my own investigation (after making several calls) my ex simply abandoned her apt and moved out of state with my daughter. After few days, on May 3rd I receive a mail letter (stamped April 27th) from her saying that she was practically living on the streets with my daughter (my ex has been living off her mother income, saying shes unable to work) Since then, I've been desperately making calls, and sending emails, trying to locate my daughter. I've contacted one of the family members but I have yet to receive any calls or replies. I also sent several emails to my ex, but she read them and did not bother to reply.

To make matters worst, my ex is involved with a 20 year sentenced convict, which still in prison. I called a local lawyer, but he said the case is out of jurisdiction (I am living overseas we've been separated for a year) and that I will need a state lawyer. I'm hysterically worried about the welfare of my daughter, and what my ex is capable of doing. I am extremely worried, and I may have to travel to the states for a consultation and eventually file a case. Not sure what other options I may have, but I will do the impossible to located my daughter. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
