Default How to move out of state...

What do I need to do to be able to move out of state? My ex and I have joint custody of our 9 year old daughter. My current husband is being transferred and we will be moving about an hour away from our current home which is in the same city as ex. He has agreed to talk to me this week about the move and what is in the child's best interest. We are hoping to have an agreement that we can take to an attorney and just have non-contested paperwork drawn up. We share 50/50 time with the child and I am willing to offer ex the same amount of time with the child, except now it is every other week and I plan to offer every weekend, split of summer, plus holidays and days out of school. Is there anything else I need to do? What if we can't agree and it goes to court? Wouldn't a judge tell him that he is crazy not to accept my offer since it will not reduce the amount of time he gets with the child - only the actual days change???

Smile Re: How to move out of state...

If you guys can come to an agreement then a Lawyer can draw up the paperwork and have a judge sign it. Its called a consent order. Its legal and can be enforced, but tit saves you time and money. I know I had one done cost me 800 dollars and about thirty minutes to get it notarized and sent.

Now if he disagrees with you. Then no a JUDGE won't tell him anything they will advise him to do whats best for the child first. If no arrangement can be made at that point then a Judge will review all the facts and details then rule based on facts!
