Confused and want to do whats right for me and my child

I have a 7 year old and to make a long story short, my son's father left us when he was 4 months old and has had a little communication but not much I know what city he is living in and that is about all and I am married and my son calls him dad and has since he could talk but anyways I don't know if I should just try to find him take him to court here in alberta and take all his rights away since he does have visitation from courts before but he has never acted on them or take him to court to get child support and end up bringing him back into his life I don't know what to do

Firstly, run on sentences with no punctuation are tedious to read. It will get you less responses.

Secondly, you cannot "take away all his parental rights". That is not your decision to make and you do not hold the legal power to do so. If he has visitation rights, you must abide them or risk contempt of the court order.

Sorry to say but you chose this man to be the father of your child. You are stuck with him now for life.

you need to stop your son from calling your husband dad. that can cause you to be stripped of custody for parental alienation. your husband is a legal stranger to your son, not dad.
