Default Can the court deny what the parents want?

Hi, I live in Canada.
I was wondering if both parents mutually agree on a custody arrangement (joint custody), live close together and are willing to cooperate, and go to court to get a legal document to say that there is joint custody just so no parent can take advantage of what it is... Can the court say.. no? Neither one of us have any criminal record or factors that would show that we are unfit.

You do not have to step foot inside a courtroom if you and the other parent have agree on all issues. Court is for people who wish to fight, or who cannot make parenting decisions for themselves. Courts don't establish parenting/family plans. Parents do.

You have no reason to involve the courts at this juncture.
