I wish to inform you that the court considers best interest of child. In this the mother right to have visitation or child custody is not directly effected by her being a prostitute. In this you will have to argue in court that as mother is a prostitute therefore it will have a huge adverse impact on the mind of the child and hence you should be awarded custody. You will have to show that you can better take care of the child and also that if the custody is given to mother instead of father then it will adversely effect child and is not in the best interest of child. As regards visitation you will have to show to the court that visitation to mother will effect the child and for the best interest of child he should not meet his mother. Court will take into account all factors while deciding child custody and visitation.

It may have an impact on custody, but it won't have a big an impact on visitation.
Your son is entitled to two parents. Not just one. She has a right to see her son. Barring her doing something that lands her in prison, you must not sever that relationship. If you do, you will risk losing custody yourself. Her being a prostitute has no bearing on how she treats the child. The judge will likely grant her visitation rights. |

Maybe you can video her on her way to work?? Or with her multiple partners. The judge will love to see that??
If true fight all you can to get her cut out of everybody's life for God's sake. Just MHO. |

The court is not going to cut her out, unless she is arrested and jailed for her supposed job.
I would really like to hear the true facts on this one. |

Unregistered who asked the question: I'm sorry you have been subjected to the utterly childish and judgmental opinions you have received when you are clearly here for a modicum of legal advice.
Please ignore the comments that were posted by those with entirely too much time on their hands. You won't likely be successful in cutting her completely out of your son's life. That's hurt and anger from your personal point of view talking, and not what the child needs or wants. If she is not abusing the child, it's highly unlikely a judge will sever that parental contact. From an unemotional standpoint, you must ask for fully custody of the child. You may get it. You may not. But whatever the custody order is, you must comply or you will risk being brought back to court on contempt charges. If you rack up enough contempt charges, you may lose custody altogether. It's imperative you calm yourself before making any life changing decisions for your child. Good luck to you. |

It is really sad that sometimes a woman has to make the choice to sacrifice her body to earn a living. Usually, to support children that she loves, and cannot care for in another way and still earn the amounts of money possible through prostitution.
Removing children from the custody of a prostitute parent is barbaric, and hurts noone more than the small child. (of course I am refering to prostitution outside of the childrens presence, or knowledge) It is sad that a woman has few options to protect herself from the name callers, finger pointers and holier than thou individuals that really are uninformed. Why, Please tell me.... Should a child be taken away from a mother because while the child is at school, she has sex with someone, and he pays her for it? Where is the harm? |

Just when I think I've heard (or read) the be all end all in asinine rationalization and justification, someone comes along and scrapes the sewer sludge.
The poster above me is merely giving her opinion. She is obviously a prostitute herself or she, as a woman, would not even defend such disgusting behavior. I would hope NOBODY who reads her post will take stock in her point of view. What is really sad is the poster above is trying to make the woman who choose prostitution out to be the "victim". Please, the "victim" card is worn out. There really isn't a strong enough word to describe the utter disgust I felt when I read the poster's comment above. Prostitution is ALWAYS a CHOICE. To the last poster: seek psychiatric help. You desperately need it. |
