Confused Daughter in CT DCF Care, father wants to voluntary relinquish his rights

My daughter is in the care of DCF. I can't get her until they feel that I'm fit to take care of her...long story. My ex husband is now talking about relinquishing his parental rights. Will he still be required to pay child support if they grant his request? Please help...I'm worried that if and when my daughter comes back in my house, I won't be able to support her on my income alone.

Relinquishing parental rights does not necessarily absolve a parent of child support obligations.

Judges are very hesitant to do so.

I think it was answered. Reliquinshing parental rights does not end financial responsibility to a child. Child support will still be ordered.
