Back Support from another state
I am in the middle of establishing paternity and getting an order from Florida for support for my 16 year old daughter. We live in Ohio and started the process at least 2 years ago when I found out where he was. Had been looking for him all along but could not locate as he left the country, he knew about her too. They now have contact and he is cooperating. My question is in FL seems they will only go back 24 months from date of order for back support, if that is even right and I want to go back farther. Will it be in my best interest to hire an attorney? Will I have to hire an attorney in Ohio or in Florida?

If you were not married, and did not establish paternity for the first 14 years, they will not go back further than when you started the process.
