Confused forgery of placement agreement

My ex and I signed a placement agreement in front of a notary. After we left the notary, my ex kept my copy. He then changed a page of the document and mailed it to the court, and it was made an order without a hearing. I finally saw the altered papers when I got my copy from the courts. I wrote to the notary, and she recalled seeing us both initialing every page. She didn't keep a copy of it. The filed papers are not initialed on every page.

My question is, what crime has he done? And how to I make sure that he gets in trouble for it? The alteration was a very major change. I am in WI. Oh, I also have emailed version of the agreements, which we sent back and forth while negotiating. No version has this alteration, in fact they all have a different but coincidentally similarly sized, unrelated paragraph in it's place.

thanks,

Why did you let your ex take and keep your copy?

If you can prove it, he intentionally altered a notarized document. Contact an attorney to see what can be done.

Notaries do not retain copies of the documents they sign. The notary you used should have a copy of both of your driver's licenses, though, for proof of identification purposes.

Your time is likely limited to do anything...get an attorney quickly.

I was coerced to sign it, he had my kids and wasn't going to let me have them back.

I filed an objection as soon as I got back from the visit to notary (because he kept my copy, and the coercion). It was still entered because the judge didn't first look into the files or whatever. Now I just got a letter saying it's vacated because of my objection. I still want him held accountable for the forgery. Do I go to a family lawyer, or another type, or just right to the judge with the proof I have from what the notary said?

thanks,

My husband went to court for his divorce, signed off on the rough draft of the divorce agreement and then when he got the final papers there wer so many things changed in the that he never agreed to. I wrote the attorney a letter who was supposed to be my husbands attorney. he signed the papers as his attorney and he took the retainer from my husband but he never went to court once with my hsuband. instead they had this idiot lawyer go to court with him and she did nothing for him. In fact she made it worse for him in the long run. she did not fight for him at all.I have been trying to get a hold of thes people but they will not answer me back and this attorney is a very high profile attorney in the state of Ct. She told my husband that he could not have a DNA test to see if his son is really his son. Which is ridiculous. Why should my husband have to pay child support for a child that is not his. He was made to believe he was his son for 12 years and it has come to light that he may not be his son. in fact we totally believe he is not his son. And all these stipulations and other changes were put into the divorce after the papers were written for the last time. It really sucks what these laywes and courts do to people

thanks,

correction he had HIS kids as well. And if you can prove his forged these documents, he will have to pay the price for that. But don't count on hearsay winning it for you.
