Texas - Custodial Parent Going to Jail in Michigan

I am in Dallas and need some advise.

I recently learned that my 13 year old daughter's father is scheduled to serve a six month sentence in Michigan. He was convicted of probation violations from a prior conviction.

I just tried to call my daughter on his mobile telephone. He informed me that he would not allow her to talk to me and in addition, I should never expect to see or hear from her again.

I don't have the money to hire a lawyer, but I think I desparately need one.

Yes you do, a Michigan attorney. You need one immediately of you may not know where your child ends up

He has made threats againts me and my family. I am afraid to go back to Michigan. If I go back, is there anything I can do myself to get my daughter? I cannot aford a lawyer.

Arrange payments. Call a lawyer. If you don't care enough to call every attorney in the phone book to try and find someone to help you, then maybe your daughter is in the best place she can be.

You may also try to find a paralegal service. They may know what forms to file...but then you'd probably have to be in Michigan.
