home issues i live in ohio

my girlfriend is 17 and turns 18 in jan. her at home life is really bad. mom has bad mental health issues and dad is in V.A. hospital aunt and uncle have custody and dont care about her she is getting hit by mom and being mentally abused alot daily. can she move out and not get in trouble for a run away? i got kicked out of my house a month after i turned 17 i dont turn 18 till june of next year i have been liveingon my own and job and family services dont think its an issue. local law inforcment hasnt done anything about it either is this right can anything be done for both situations?

I would not recommend it frankly unless there is income and a secure residence etc.

She could also ask social services to come to her home and help deal with the problems...

In Ohio, a minor is required to live with his/her parents until 18 or graduation. Whichever comes last. She could try to leave...but the police may take her right back.

pfffft at 17 the police would most certainly not take her back. she is almost 18, good luck with that one.
