Default coerced into signing away my rights

i was labeled by cps as a chronic substance abuser. i believe i was coerced into signing away my rights to my child as i was not of sound mind-- at the time. How can I fight this now? Will this cost a fortune in legal fees? I have little money at this point but must take some action.

How long ago did this happen? Was the child put up for adoption or does he/she live with another parent or relative?

More than likely the other parent is going to fight it and not agree to anything. So in short, yes it is going to take lots of time and money to get this straigtened out.

Chronic or mild substance abuse is still substance abuse. Why should a a good father who does not have substance abuse problems have to give his child back to YOU simply because you are 'Mommy' and finally want to make a move. You chose the losing end of the deal. As a woman, you had the courts on your side. You had to be a royal screw up to lose your kid. Look, you even said YOU signed your kid away. Even after being labeled a "chronic substance abuser", YOU had the choice to sign your kid away. The courts still didn't have sense enough to see that the father was obviously the better parent.

Sorry, no sympathy here.

It doesn't even say it's the mother. maybe you should shut your mouth before you post rude and ridiculous responses.

Agreed. That posters response was quite ridiculous. If the poster believed the original poster was the father, I bet there would have been "fight for your rights!" type posts. Instead of "your a loser mother" type posts.

Exclamation Re: coerced into signing away my rights

The same thing ALMOST happened to me....so I refused to sign away my right. It didn't matter, they took her anyway. So why bother?

I used to work as a CPS investigator in PA and am quite familiar with this corrupt process. No I am in TN and guess what...yes, they have my 13yo. I am fighting for her back. I (one by one) amd contacting ANYONE that will please sign this petition. And pass it on. This is for the state of TN howver you do not need to be in TN to sign. As of today, we are at 301 signatures!

In turn, I will gladly sign ANYONES petition in another state!

Please help and let me know if I can help you:

Revamp Children's Services in the State of Tennessee

Regards,

Nicole

People come here seeking legal advice, not character judgment from the morality police. The post above offered absolutely no help whatsoever.

To the OP, you may want to contact an attorney in your area who specializes in family law. Where is the child now? Foster care or with the other parent?
