Default nursing as excuse to keep new born from staying overnight with dad

Does anyone have any information about in the state of Georgia, Cobb county to be exact. Can a mom use nursing as an excuse to limit custody from Dad of a 6 week or older newborn. Can she refuse to use a breast pump, and will a judge uphold that or will a judge make her pump in order to give Dad more time?

6 wk olds are often NOT put on schedules overnight away from the mother. In most cases, babies are at least a year, sometimes as much as 18 months, maybe as young as 6 months.

Also, some women can nurse, but not breast pump....and some can pump but not nurse and there's there are others than can do both or neither.

The pertinent question would be, is this a hypothetical situation or has there already been a court order regarding child custody and visitation?

It's rarely considered by judges a viable excuse as there are alternatives to how the baby is fed. Infants especially need quality bonding time with both parents.

Not true, I had my baby every other weekend from 2 months on, and mom was 150 miles away...they can pump and unless you get a judge from the 1940's should not be able to use that excuse any more

Not every woman can pump and not every court/judge is the same. I never said you CAN'T get overnights with an infant. So to say my post is "not true" is not being truthful. Gladly share your experiences with infant overnight visitation, it is appreciated. But not all cases are decided the same.

Same here. I was the primary caretaker of my infant child and her mother went back to work full time 6 weeks after having our child. There were no problems with feeding.

Well we have all read your Tender Years philosophies throughout your posts. Mine was not Court decided when we began, and the experience- long nights/crying/loving/bonding are the times i will treasure with my daughter. We made it through just fine

I live in Atlanta, and here the law is " Whatever the court order for visitation is set at "

Example, If you get court ordered visitation, and it is on your scheduled day, then NO SHE CAN NOT USE FEEDING AS AN EXCUSE.

If there is no court order for visitation, then she can do what she wants
