a couple of questions please help

I was ordered to pay child support. it is 30 dollars a week for child > support and 30 dollars a week for back child support my son is now 19 > years old do i continue to pay 60 dollars total or does it drop down to > 30...Also the \"my son\' is now living with me can i give the > mony directly to him. My court papers do NOT specify any paticular person > to give it to it just says. pay 30 aweek child support and 30 a week back > pay.cause my sons dad is now threatning me to put me in jail > cause i am giving the money to my son and not him. thank you.


I do want to add I had my son when i was 17 years old i am now 36 when my son was 2 me and his dad split i was ordered then to pay the child support and i was but i was told from his dad to leave him alone that my son didnt need me well 17 years later i found my son which wasnt supposed to be taken out of the county we lived in but he was taken out of state i was found in contempt for the child support which i had no problem paying from the start. but now my current husband is paying it for me cause im raising our 3 kids.It is just a big mess. please help if you can and please pardon my typing. If there is back support - you still have to pay it. you could file to have child support stopped due to a change in circumstances - or the child graduating. But you will pay back support until it's done. Call your local child support agency or the agency that handles your case.

depending on the state, you may be thought with the child support part, as some states are 18 some are 21. But why wouldnt you just pay the same amount and get your arrears caught up?

you pay the custodial parent, not directly to the child, your ex is correct, what you have given to your son probably will not be credited as payment.
