What do I do????

I need some advice very badly here. My ex husband has been receiving child support for our two kids for the last 15 years. He has always told the kids if you want new shoes and clothes talk to your Mom. I can't afford it. So being a Mom I have always payed support and then payed for everything on top of that. I am broken and just can't do it anymore. I make over 20 thousand a year and don't qualify for any free legal help. After I pay rent and bills and child support I have nothing left. Does anybody have any advice in this matter. So many doors have been slammed in my face and I don't know which way to turn..

Hi there. Sorry for your situation. If hiring an attorney and legal aid are both out of the question, that leaves two options. First, you could file for a downward modification of your child support obligations on your own. You would need to contact your state's court system to see if free forms and information are available. Secondly, you could contact you state child support agency and request assistance.
