Default Temporary Gaurdianship Orders Alberta/BC

Is it likely for a bc resident to succeed (with bio mother of 2 relative children) in gaining a temporary gaurdianship order when the father has an EPO against him for atleast the next 3 months and no custody has been arrange or delcared yet, from Alberta.

The mother is willing to allow the children stay in our home, and wishes me to take them to services for sexual abuse and neglect like art/play therapy while in my care etc.
She admits she is not quite ready (seperated only 3 weeks ago) to handle the kids on her own, but the father is not capable or allowed to at this point either.
Both have neglected the children, and both have been addicted to many drugs and alcohol.
Currently even the children have headlice that has gone untreated.

I would like to avoid them being placed in foster care, since I am a sahm with children, the means necessary to provide and do not even request financial help.

Thanks for reading, I hope someone has experience.

to my knowledge, any parent can place care of their children to a willing party. If the EPO with the father (protective order?) includes him staying away from the children, it should be fine. You might need guardianship, or the mother will have to be involved in the therapy. You'll need to check with them.
