advise wanted please

heya...im a single mother and my child is 3...the father walked out before he was born and only saw him once in the hospital...that was his own choice..not mine!!!

no he is sayin he is bringing me to court to get custody

i just wanted to no if he can do this and how long woud it take for the court to decide????

Have you ever been convicted of a crime involving a child? Do you move week to week or live out of a refridgerator box? Are you a drug addict who has never tried to quit or tried and failed numerous times? Do you live with a convicted child molestor or someone convicted of any crime involving a minor? Does a convicted child molestor ever babysit your child? Have you ever gave your child to someone else to care for him/her because you couldn't or didn't want to?

If the answer to all of those is no....then he likely can't get custody. He probably WILL get visitation though unless he fits in one of the above categories.

It can take months or years. I'm into my third year....

no none of them reasons apply to me....i love my child soo much and wud do neting to protect him!!!!!

if he gets visatition how do you explain to a 3 year old that this strnger is his daddy???

i dont tink he even wqants to see my child...he is only doing this to get to me!!!!!

he doesnt pay maintace and he never even sent my son a birthday card!!!!

i recently found out that he is taking and dealing drugs and he has tried to kill himself a few times.... he also has a number of warrent out for his arrest!!!!!

i dont tink he would be a good influene to my child and now his girlfriend is saying she can be his second mammy

is der any way i can not let him have visatition???

My ex and girlfriend number 12 refer to her as our childs new mommy. Puke! Sorry, mommy's aren't so easily replaceable.

If he's got warrents out for his arrest, you don't have much to worry about until he's served jail time. You would actually be able to explain to a 3yr old that someone is their daddy...as weird as it would be to you, it probably be pretty plain to the the child.

You can order a drug test if it does come before court. But he will likely still get supervised visitation. If he truely does have warrants - starting a custody case would not likely be in his best interest...

The courts would applaud him for finally wanting to be a part of your childs life and be very skeptical of you that you have not allowed him a relationship - even if it was by HIS choice.

i wud lik my child to have a stable father figure...as any1 can be a father i doubt he wud be a good dad

u wud the courts be skeptical of me????

he noes were i live and he never bothered his ass to cum c his child....he also requested a dna test as he says "he doesnt trust me" ...

ting is i was a 16 year old who was in her first relationship....

are u going thru the courts for ur child???
