custodial parent leaves child with noncustodial parent

Texas: Me and my husband live in Texas and the mother of his child moved to France without his consent. They do have a court order of how the visitation goes and he tried to fight her on her leaving with his daughter but it got really ugly and he let her take her without the attorney generals office knowledge and we get her every summer for the last 3 years. In december she came and left her with us and says she does not know when she will be coming back to get her. We do not know what to do about the child support issue, we stopped sending the money because the child is now living with us and we only have a phone number for the mother and nothing else. How should we go about getting the child support changed and custody without her being present?

Go to the child support agency. quickly. Arrearage cannot usually be changed. Tell them the child is in your care and you can bring the child in. Tell them what you said here.
