my daughter is in the process of transfer child support to ohio from florida. the child is 2 yrs old and the father is in arrears over 3k dollars. he is now stating he wants to give up his rights to the child. question is... here in ohio they said no way he could do that unless the child was being adopted. the father is in florida. we want nothing to do with the sperm donors family nor him and it is a mutal agreement between the mother and father. what do we need to do or where do we go. no one seems to have any answers but get an attny. which we can't afford. second question.... my husband and i have pretty well raised our grandbaby since day 1. would one of us be able to be the other adoptive name?? to me it sounded like if the father steps out another man needs to step in to take that spot. i don't think that is right, and was courios to know if either my husband or i would be able to fill that so called spot?? sounds confusing i know. the father does not see the child because he chooses not to and also domestic violence order in in effect. havent' recieved no money in over a year. we just want him out of the childs life. who do i nee to contact in this situation. child support here in ohio said no way and florida courts told me they don't deal with that, to get an attny. i'm lost...........
