Confused help understanding extended summer posession

I do not understand if we are to give the other parent visitation during the summer months if we supplied in writing the dates we will keep the children. Do they have a say so, I thought we got them for an extended stay with out having to move them around twice in that period. We did give the other parent a full week in between the extend stay but she is now demanding she is allowed to receive a weekend of her choice, I thought she could only do that if we did not give her written notice.
Help I am so confused!!

Your question is confusing to say the least.

Are you the custodial parent or non? most summers stays (that I have seen) give the parent not with the children their weekend. So, when the child is with either parent, the every other weekends continue unless the parent is too far away to make that practical. Non-custodial parents usually get first choice of dates - cut off is usually somewhere in May to get choices in (I think). If non-custodial parents first choice is recieved AFTER the cut off date - then the custodial parent CAN say no pick a different date (as they may have already made plans). Some extended summer plans limit to two weeks in a row...some more...some designate exact dates.

You will have to review your papers. It will state if the weekends are still to be spent with the other parent. Laws and standards change. What may have been standard when the order was written may or may not be the standard now.
