Can I get child support if the non-custodial father is on SSI?

Please help. I have had a child support order for about 7 years and never went for it. He is on SSI( the welfare version of Social Security) so he doesnt get as much $. The child support division said they can not enforce it because he is on this SSI. I'm thinking it is still considered income and I have a court order is anything I can do?

I thought they could take SSI for child support.... The child support agency has child support attorneys that work for the recipient of child support. Ask if you can speak with one of the attorneys.

SSI should provide a benefit for each of his children.

I believe it would equal to half of his benefits divided between each of his children.

SSI - no they can not attach ssi
SSDI - yes they can depending on amount they receive. If he gets SSDI your children may be entitled to receive a check under his claim.
