I am from South Africa.

I am a single mother I am not married to my childs biological father, he got married when I was about 3mths pregnant and about 2mths after his girlfriend that he was living with died. I have not annotated him as the father on my childs birth certificate, what I need to know is what rights does he have to my child if any. He has told his wife and parents that I fell pregnant by artificial insemination, which was not the case. If he wishes to see my daughter I have allowed it, he does not support her in any way. I just need to know if he can cause problems for me and my child.

He has rights to see the child if he wishes but he also has obligations to pay support if you choose to enforce it.

Does he currently have rights? No. If he says it's artificial insemination...heck, agree with him.

I'd recommend NOT persuing support if you can afford not to. That's a sure way to get slapped with a custody suit. The court system SUCKS. You'd be better off not to face it...
