I have been legally separated for 4 months and have moved from MD to NY. I have physical custody of our 4 year old son, and we share joint legal custody. My soon to be ex husband has now decided to move to this same area and wants to occasionally pick up our son from day care. Right now he is not listed as a contact nor is he authorized to pick him up. I told him to just pick up our son at my home but he is insisting that he needs to be on the day care center paperwork and should be authorized to pick him up. ( on a side note he is unreliable, I worry that he wouldn't pick him up before the center closes). Am I required to list him in the day care paperwork or give him authorization to pick up our son?

No you are not--he needs to get a court order if he wants definitive rights, ordered by the court...
