Daughter scared of stepfather

I gained temporary custody of my two girls because their mom was suicidal and checked herself into the hospital for 3 weeks. now that she is out we have been to court several times and I have been named sole custodian. The girls spend a week at their moms and the next week here. My youngest 8, told me that her stepfather is spanking her and sometimes hits her in the back. My daughter also told me that she is scared because she is afraid that her stepdad is going to beat her up. The older daughter also agrees with the younger one that she is treated more badly than the older one.
I am scared for my daughters safety and cannot contact my lawyer because it is the weekend. I would appreciate any advice because my girls are supposed to go to their moms on monday night and thier mom is not going to be there and the girls will be there with the stepdad alone.
Please help.

Sole custodial but 50/50 custody?

I'd teach them 911 - but I'm not sure what else can be done by Monday...

The courts would not be available to you over a weekend. If you have evidence that there is current and immediate abuse, you could contact CPS who may be authorized to take immediate action.

Are they being spanked or being abused?

In most legal systems there's a pretty huge difference.

No visible signs probably means no abuse, unless you want to take a constitutional rights case up or something.
