Quick question!
I have custody of my son, however his father did not come to court due to his own ignorance. Although everyone tells me I shouldn't bother with this but the judge took all his rights away such as access to our son. He does not pay child support & I am starting back to school in Sept. I am not interested in making him pay any money we have agreed that he will help buy our son clothes etc, anything he needs. Due to the no access he is not allowed to see our son & it breaks my heart because every little boy needs their father in their life. His father lives 3 hours away from us but we are moving to the same city while I attend school & was really looking forward to having him help me with our son. I understand he should have came to court but I was looking for a few pointers/help on how I might be able to change this. If anyone would be able to assist me with some answers please feel free to tell me how to go about this!
Thanks! |

The court may have declared that he has no rights to see his son, but unless they specifically denied it then you as the custodial mother can allow your son to be in the company of anyone you choose. Even the father.

On my custody papers it states This court orders that: 2. That there shall be no access to the Respondent at this time. Which my lawyer explained that the judge took his rights of visition away to see our son for the time being. Im assuming she did that due to the lack of infomartion we had on him. He did not show up for court & does not pay any child support. However we have since came to an agreement with each other he will help with our son & were just curious if we would be able to have this matter taken care of out of court? or how would I even go abouts of doing so? |

Why are you not asking your Lawyer this?

I'd think she'd at least entertain one or two direct questions in a phone calll...but then again, she is an attorney.
