Default Judgement and credit report: I want to build a new house

We are divorced. I got property and paid off all judgements that exsisted in my name. Ex has a judgement on record that was for ex personal benifit. And nothing attached to my property. I get nothing refrencing ex judgement in mail and its not on my credit report or records at courthouse. I want to build new house and wonder if this will afect me?

If you have nothing on your credit report and you have a GREAT credit score (minimum over 620 - best 720 or higher). It won't affect.

Actually, the judgements WILL hurt you. If they are over two years old, you may be OK....but it will still ding your credit score.

You said you paid off judgements in your name. That will harm your credit. Anything not in your name will not.

Go to myFICO - FICO Credit Scores | Get a Free Credit Report Online to get your credit score. Hope for at least a 620.

Why would that paying off judgements in my name harm my credit?
