Support and Public Welfare
Ok me and my ex have a good understanding. I have been paying support and also arrears as well. Before she got support she got welfare (cash assitance, food stamp etc) then after the support she dropped it. But didn't recieve any checks for about 2-3 months. She was told welfare got the checks to pay back from what she got. SO now we agreed to drop the rest of the back support (has been about 6 months since I mad my first payment) and DOmestic relations told her she couldn't drop it because the arrears was for back support? SO I want to know what's going on? If PW got the first 3 or 4 checks which covers the amount she recieved why are they still saying I owe them???? ANy help would be great!

That's suprising that she got nothing...but yes...arrears don't just drop off by the agreement of the parties. They are to be paid until fulfilled.
