Default Visitation rights

In massachusetts and looking for legal advice. My ex, we were unmarried and lived together previously, does not have any court order visitation rights. Would it be bad on my part if I didn't allow him to see the child seeing that he recently became a level 3 sex offender? I'm afraid if he did seek a court order, it would reflect badly on me if I did not allow him to. So what are his changes of actually getting rights? Also, could I move away without any problems since he does not have any court order?

This is a tough question; I'm not sure honestly what a level three sex offender means. So..... try this..

Call your local CPS agency (child protective agency) and ask them the very question you asked us. Feel free to ask them about their job; like; "would you take a child away from a mother who allowed visitation under these circumstances?" etc..

Gut check if he is indeed a sex offender then don't allow him visitation until the court has ordered it. But check locally for the answer.

I might be wrong but i belive if you were to move somewhere else with child . Six months that state takes juristiction.Dont quote me on this. Also when you get where you are goaing.GET legal leverage. some of these people here know more about these scenarios. Ithink this is right as long as no other state has juristiction. Of coarse its always right to let other parent know where child is.

If he has no visitation rights, then you can legally prevent contact.
If he has been convicted of a sex offense, I can't see any court holding you at fault for not allowing visitation.
