Default grandchildren in England

My daughter married a British man 8 years ago. She had a son by a previous marriage. She and her husband had another child. The boys are now 10 and 7. My daughter has seperated from the husband (3 years). This was on the advise of a woman's shelter. He will not allow her to have the boys or contact them. This has gone thru the courts. The CASFASS has had visitation with them and the report shows that the boys are terrified of my daughter, but they also say that they are saying things that they know that what the boys are saying is not usual for children their ages. The husband is court ordered that the boys are to call me once a month. I have not heard from them since March of 2007. The thing I can't understand is he has no rights to the older boy. He never adopted, he is not the biological father. My daughter is still in England. She wants very much to have contact with her sons, but somehow the courts have gone to every whim of the husband. Any ideas on where I can go to get contact or to fight some of what is going on. My daughter is getting financial aid and she gets limited assistance from the legal system

Default Re: grandchildren in England

I would suggest you email world law on their home page.

They may provide free or very low cost help if the circumstances are as you say.

Of course legal aid can help too sometimes.
