Default What are my rights as the primary custodian?

My ex-husband's father is a horrible influence on my son. My son always comes home from their house saying and doing things he should not. Such as sayiing "be my b****", he said that when he was 2 years old. Another example, I picked him up from my ex's and my son was talking about someone being drunk, also the step mother is telling my son to tell me that he wants daddy to keep him. My ex-husband's father has driven with my son in the back seat while he was drunk and they watch Very Adult material when my son is in the room. My son is 4 years old now. But these things have always went on at their house with my son there. When I was married to my ex-husband, I was the one taking him out of the room when stupid things would show up on the tv while at their house, my ex was nowhere to be found. Anyway my question is, now that we are divorsed I live 5 hours away with primary custody of my son. My ex-husband wants our son to stay with his dad for 3 weeks. I know what kind of damage that will do. What can I do legally to prevent things such as this?

Wow...sounds like our children have the same father! My daughter even stumbles around imitating being drunk.

If there is a custody order, that's what you need to go by...

Something seen can never be unseen. All you can do is your best to teach right from wrong.

Question: is the three weeks during your ex husband's time? If not - then I would put my foot down and say "no" to the request. As you know, it takes time to change things through court, not to mention $$.

Old post...and most standard orders allow for up to 4wks with the non-custodial parent every summer.
