Dad Not around in any way for 6 years!!

My child's father has had no part of my child's life at all. He has never tried to reach him be apart of his life in any way. He has always had a way of contacting us but never has. My question is now, 6 years later, would he have any rights to him? Please let me know if you have any information or need more information from me to help me out. Thank you so much.

He would have whatever rights granted in any existing custody order (though you could appeal to have those changed - but likely not elminated). He would have the right to request a custody order (visitation) through the courts. He would have the right to sue for full custody if he chose to (though it would be almost impossible to get under normal circumstances).

You don't state your circumstances or why you ask...so my understanding of your situation is limited.
