Hello
I have been trying to find some help, I'm currently in the military 14 years, my wife and I were seperated for 3 years contimplating divorce, in those three years I met someone and had a child. My wife and I have decided to reconcile, and the lady who has my daughter knows this and lets me have mu daughter 4 days a week I'm stationed in Japan, she is a Phillipino resident who I just found is here on illegal status now and has no visa to be here. I want to take the child cause I can give her a better home then her mother who cannot even pay her rent. I was paying everything but being that my family and I have her 60% of the week, I stopped paying. She has medical coverage through me and is my dependent according to the military. She wants me to pay child support, I do not feel I have to as she only stays 12 days a month with her mom. How do I get custody her in japan if the mom has no visa, can I get the child and send the mom home I need help. thank you |

Wow. Kind of a selfish attitude...but somewhat understandable. She can't be too bad, since you got involved with her.
This would be a question for the ask an attorney area of this site. There are too many unknowns for anyone here to help (I would guess). |

Selfishness is a part of parenting truely. It's how we handle it and if we act in the best interest of the child. It's not always a bad thing....
The ask an attorney section can get you in touch with international lawyers to my understanding (to get advice for a small fee). I've never used it personally. Good luck! Last edited by Gbyte; Nov 30th, 2008 at 06:58 PM. |
