Collect child support? Father is a US citizen but has just stopped paying

Can anyone please advise on the easiest way to collect child support from a father living in the usa? I am living in a different country (where the child was born) the father is a us citizen, has been paying child support for some time but has just stopped paying, doesnt respond to emails or phone calls and I am now in a big financial debt he is in arrears of around $2700. I simply do not have the funds for attorneys. Please help

I'm so sorry to hear. Maybe something happened. There is a lot of job loss here now. Maybe something happened. Do you have any family of his to get a hold of to make sure he's alright?

O he is alright, I know that for a fact as I am in contact with one of his work colleagues, who doesnt say much as he does not want to get involved but he assures me that the father will be in touch with me shortly and thats what he has been saying for the past 4 months. If he is experiencing financial difficulty I think that he should at least be in contact and advise me of this and make some sort of contribution even if it is $20 towards his child.

A while ago I was considering writing him off as that is clearly what he has done to his child, but why should he benifit from this, I am struggling to make ends meet while he is living the life of luxury not even responding to recent photos of his daughter which I send him on a weekly basis.

Contact the Child Support Enforcement Agency for the State and County in which he lives. He is supposed to be sending the support to them, and then they forward it on to you.
