Default Child Support

My ex is stating that since I am providing her with a non-local check in the amount of $1,300, her credit union will put a 21 day hold on the check. According to my research with the Federal Regulations of Availability of Funds and Disclosure of Funds Availability Policies her credit union can only put a hold on a non-local check for 5 business days, 1 additional day if she is to withdraw cash. As a courtesy to her, I paid her in cash this month, but advised her that the co-op bank that I withdrew the funds from would only allow this withdrawal 1 time. My ex replied that 5 days was considered non-payment and that she would take me back to the district attorney and have them debit my paycheck bi-monthly. I spoke with several credit unions in the area and they stated a hold on the check was highly unusual and there must be other circumstances why they would put a hold on the check. I relayed this information to my ex, in addition to informing her the prior month child support check was deposited in her account and debited from my account in 1 day. And if she needed the cash that urgently that she could go to a check cashing institute such as The Moneytree.
My question is, would she have a case against me for non-payment? I live in the state of Nevada.
Thank you in advance for your advice.

Default Re: Child Support

Make sure your payments are going through "the system". Never pay cash (or check)...

I've never heard of a 21 day hold either. 5, yes. 21....nope.

You're safer to have your paycheck debited.

If you don't pay through the system...you aren't "paying" in the eyes of the state. You're state may be somewhat different than mine. You are giving a "gift". She could someday hit you for back support.
