Tempory Custody
My finance and I have recently assumed tempory custody of his 2 year old nephew. His sister who lives in Canada (we live in NY) was not able to care for him anymore and gave us tempory custody. We went to the courts to legalize the custody and the father, who is in jail, is now trying to fight us. The mother has now cleaned up and would like the child back, but we now have a court date with father to fight custody. We are trying to find out what we can do to relinquish our custody back to the mother. We cant afford an attorny to help us on this.
