Please, I am exhausted. It\'s the \"ex\" of my husband who continues to
harrass and drain us with nonsense allegations. She files paper after paper claiming abuse, drugs, fighting, harrassment. We have ignored her for 3 years, hired \"inexpensive\" attorney\'s to file answers for us because a judge orders us to do so. She walks into a courtroom last week and files a restraining order and it\'s granted..unbelievable. She has a jacket a mile thick because she continues to force my husband to respond..she is addicted to the courtroom, the attention and we can no longer afford to pay attorneys to answer or defend us. Nothing ever gets solved, it continues to get \"continued\"..new judges, wrong courtroom. We have over a dozen police reports for interrupted visitation...we go to pick up my step-son and, he\'s nowhere to be found. We thought it was a crime to interrupt visitation in the state of Illinois? Anyway, are there any legal aid/resources for people who need repres! entation but cannot absolutely afford it? I have googled and searched..I found a couple of places that looked good but once I phoned, for some reason or another we didn\'t qualify. We are broke...we can\'t afford to continue this fight and now we have lost visitation rights to his son because of this unbelievable, unwarranted restraining order. What are our options? PLEASE |

click on the link legal aid in your post
if you cannot get aid you can keep going without counsel and learn how to deal with it...many peole handle it themsleves and family law judges do tend to be lenient as to procedure forms etc. email world law as well, they may help guide you in certain ways that could ease the difficulty |

Actually, the judge ordered us to retain counsel. We attempted to "answer" one of the many petitions and her attorney announced that it was a bunch of "babble". The judge said "Don't return without an attorney".
Thank you for your reply. |

File a motion for contempt for interfering with the visitation schedule.
File a grievance with the State Court regarding the court's insistence that you retain counsel. I don't believe there is any law stating that you cannot represent yourself, and as a matter of fact in Ohio courts are supposed to be lenient on protocol for pro se litigants. |
