Confused living arrangements

me and partner recently split and he said if i draw up papers that my daughters stays with me full time and he gets visitation rights he wil sign which is fine but what if he changes his mind will the documents stand up in court if not done by solicitor

If you can come to an agreement on custody, support, and visitation, you can get an attorney to write it up for you and file it with the court. If it is reasonable, the judge will probably approve it.
It is certainly much cheaper than "battling attorneys" route.
