Big Grin help with getting protection for myself being the absent parent?

this is my problem, I have chose to leave a un-healthy relationship behind
to get the best help possible for me. the abuse state is OHIO, and I live elsewhere( privite location) for my own safety and protection, since OHIO did nothing to help me at all! I do have 2 children ages 12 and 11 years old living in foster care in OHIO, as a absent parent, I know that I have to pay child support for them. which I am willing to do, its the right thing to do, HOWEVER,
I dont want the state of OHIO to ever find me, let alone child protective services find me either for again safety and protection of my own! I dont have any children living with me, and havent been to OHIO since MAy 2003
is there any way that a absent parent can show good cause to not disclose location.( meaning the absent parents location) i do understand that when my kids reach 18 years old that they cant locate me either, I am willing to do whatever it takes to keep me safe since no one else will. any advice I would greatly appreciate. thank you

The State of OHIO is not going to come after you, since OHIO is a State, which is wedged pretty securely between INDIANA and PENNSYLVANIA.
If you owe child support, you have to pay it. If you have broken the laws of the State of OHIO, you will need to go to court. There's not much else to say.

EEK! Re: help with getting protection for myself being the absent parent?

I havent broken any laws peroid! I am a victim of domestic violence and my abuser still lives in the state of OHIO and he has given death threats if he so call finds out where i am at. that is why I am asking OHIO to NOT disclose my address for MY protection.

I'm sorry. I misunderstood.
In Ohio, child support is never paid directly to the custodial parent. It is paid to the Child Support Agency, which tracks it and sends it to the receiving party.
I would think there would be ways to prevent the child support agency from disclosing your address. As a matter of fact, I would think they would not disclose that by default.

They won't disclose that information. My ex ran off to another state and wouldn't allow me to see my son. I tried asking the CSEA and they said they couldn't.

The bad news is that if you ever get your children back, and your x has a visitation order, he may eventually find out where you live since the law grants the right to know where where the child lives and to be able to have phone calls. On the other hand, your x was abusive so that would work in your favor

Big Grin Re: help with getting protection for myself being the absent parent?

thank you both very much for the information, I talked to child support in my state and they can help keep my address from Ohio, I am going to pay my state and they will deal with ohio on their own... however, I do have visitation rights comming to me, how does that work when they are 3000 miles away from me? and they are both not of age to travel that far on their own?

Maybe the judge will have you split the price of the ticket, or alternate who pays. The judge would have to be really vacant headed or a total ass if he made you meet half way somewhere. Maybe it would be too stressful for the child, but maybe someday, get split custody and have alternating school years with the child some day.

Thumbs Down Re: help with getting protection for myself being the absent parent?

The judge in Ohio( hamilton County) hates me TOTALLY! because I choose to leave my sistuation behind and didnt contact child protective services to get their approval first, I know the judge wont do that for me! my 2 kids are Austic
and are living in an approved special needs foster home, child protective services is strictly children and not Parents, so, to me they dont own me!
I am intitled to a life too, I want to have a relationship with my kids, dont want a relationship with the abuser let alone child protective services.
cause they will be in the picture till after they reach 18 years old..
due to their disabilites...
