Confused Child support on all children until the last one is 18

I live in Arkansas and my fiancee is paying child support on 3 children, I think his is getting taken to the cleaners. The child support office told him his has to pay the same amount for ALL of the children until the youngest one turns 18. Which means he is paying child support for a 20 and 22 year old child. I am in the middle of getting a divorce and my attorney mentioned to me that my 16 year old that I only have to years to pay child support on her and I also have a younger child, he said nothing about paying for her until my youngest child was 18. Do you suggest that we get a lawyer and fight this. We are probably going to do so anyway since they have got him paying for years when he was still at home caring for the children. Will he be able to get the money back that was paid that he really shouldnt have had to pay in the first place?

It is possible that he is in arrears. If he has back-dated child support that has not been paid, then the monthly payment will not be reduced until he is caught up, even as the children become emancipated.

They told him he had to pay the same for ALL the children until the last one turned 18. He is behind, but that is not why they told him that. Guess we will have to consult with a lawyer. He is paying for years that he was still there with his children even.

Yes, that is why they told him that. Either he heard wrong, or he told you wrong.
