Child Custody issues
As a father how do you go about fighting for custody of my child is in Puerto Rico, and a ward of the state because the maternal parental custody has been revoked by the courts of puerto rico due to negligence. I am in the military and am having issues due to language barriers and time alloted for leave.. I have joint custody but the courts in puerto rico are not honoring that. I need help. Is there anything i can do..

They should honor that and without serious problem.
It is not clear to me why that is not happening. But you need to get a lawyer to assert your claim and do so quickly. You should clearly have full rights to take over now, if you are able to do so. Last edited by olive; Aug 7th, 2008 at 06:14 PM. |

You really need to talk to your CO or NCO and get in touch with a JAG officer ASAP. The JAG office will help with a lot of this and won't pull any punches. You need to talk to your CO/NCO to see where to go next, housing changes, pay changes...etc. HTH.
