Confused Child Custody issues

As a father how do you go about fighting for custody of my child is in Puerto Rico, and a ward of the state because the maternal parental custody has been revoked by the courts of puerto rico due to negligence. I am in the military and am having issues due to language barriers and time alloted for leave.. I have joint custody but the courts in puerto rico are not honoring that. I need help. Is there anything i can do..

They should honor that and without serious problem.

It is not clear to me why that is not happening. But you need to get a lawyer to assert your claim and do so quickly. You should clearly have full rights to take over now, if you are able to do so.

Doesn't the military provide legal assistance as a benefit?

You really need to talk to your CO or NCO and get in touch with a JAG officer ASAP. The JAG office will help with a lot of this and won't pull any punches. You need to talk to your CO/NCO to see where to go next, housing changes, pay changes...etc. HTH.
