My sister in law had a baby and falled the drug test. The law took the child my wife and I tried to get custody of the child but they made use do drug test and I told them that I could not pass the test because I smoke pot. Now we can not get the child and they are all over me and threating to take my child. What do I need to do toget the child and them off my back?

How long has it been since you smoked last? Did you take a U/A or a hair folicle test? Did you take the test? If you can past a drug test now I don't see where you would have a problem.

This is crazy. If they wanted to take the children of every parent that smoked pot no one would have any kids left. There are people on crack and heroine that are allowed to keep their kids. They abuse them and nothing happens to them. Good luck with this. what state do you live in.

I had not smoke in for ever and I only smoked the weekend before this happend. They took both tests.

For me and my faily to go through this is crazy when all we are wanting to do is help the baby.

No one can tell me the baby is better off with strangers than with her family.

They cannot take your child simply because you test positive for cannabis, though I can see how they would not let you take responsibility for your sister-in-law's child.

I'm going thru this in TN. Mom is suing for custody of my kids. Smoking pot is the only thing against me. Went for an a&d assessment and if you do it once in a year it counts as a year so I came out as dependent and in need of therapy. Fine how do yu hold down a job and do this? Have you received any helpful advice?
